Madison Gallery Entrance: 14-Day Three-Part System
Case study for a shopping mall in Gdańsk. How we designed a three-part cleaning zone that serves 10,000+ people daily.
Galeria Madison in the heart of Gdańsk is a facility with over 10,000 visits per day during peak months. The modernization in 2025 included a comprehensive replacement of the entrance areas—the previous system struggled with mud and snow during the autumn-winter season, and the marble floors required washing several times a day.

Challenge
Five key entrances to the gallery. Each with different proportions, movement, and exposure to the elements. Additionally, the requirement to maintain Premium aesthetics — a well-positioned gallery, and the discussion with the architect even concerned the shade of anodized aluminum.
Demanding client requirements:
- Minimum hold 80% pollutants before the sales area
- Slew-free installation — all wipers recessed into the floor
- Anti-slip class R10 minimum (rainy climate of Gdańsk)
- PZH Test (food court in the mall)
- Term: 14 days from confirmation, during the gallery's operation
Analysis and proposal
After analyzing traffic (morning vs. afternoon vs. weekends) and measuring each entrance separately, we designed a three-part system tailored to each of the 5 zones:
- Zone 1 (outer): steel gratings with a water collector
- Zone 2 (vestibule): Aluminum combi with rubber-brush insert
- Zone 3 (gallery interior): aluminum with premium textile insert
Total area
System surface area in 5 inputs: to be confirmed in the final audit with the client. Each zone dimensioned individually based on input parameters.
14-day implementation
The system's production at our factory in Rusocin took 8 working days. Installation at the facility took 5 nights (the mall did not close during the work). Each entrance was taken out of service after mall operating hours, and the system was installed by 9:00 AM opening.
- Day 0: control measurements at the facility, confirmation of dimensions with the manufacturer
- Days 1-8: custom aluminum profile production, anodizing, insert assembly
- Day 9: Delivery to Gdansk, storage in the gallery warehouse
- Days 10–14: night installation in 5 entrances, quality control, handover
Results after the first season
After the full winter season 2025/2026 (November-March), data was collected from the facility maintenance department:
- 85% reduction contaminants entering the sales area
- The frequency of floor cleaning in the lobby has decreased from 6 times to 2 times per day.
- Zero slip-and-fall incidents in entry zones
- Required certificates maintained (PZH for the gastronomic zone)
After the first winter with the new system, we have fewer customer complaints about slippery floors and lower costs for cleaning agents. For a facility of our size, this is tangible money.

What does this implementation teach?
For architects planning similar projects: Do not design wipers at the end, such as finishes. The entrance area requires a unified concept already at the flooring stage, because recessed mountings determine the depth of the concrete screed. Early contact with the manufacturer saves weeks during the final installation.
